glamour
ive got a new bookmark on my macbook. www.theglamourai.com. she has this cute look which is like a mixture of a polish girl i live next door to and silver from 90210. she looks great in everything, and she also posts pics of her amazing apartment. its totally like the name of her blog, glamourous but homely, kind of tom ford-esque, a bit of kelly wearstler. and it sort of inspired me whilst shopping today for my future house.

chakra
I recently bought myself a new bracelet. Im a traveller deep down, and so i think its in my dna to want to adorn my wrists with colourful bits of string. when i saw these ones though, i felt like they were a little more relevant. im not very religious (non-practising catholic) but when i go to buddhist countries i always feel a bit more of a connection to the religion than i ever really do to my own. the philosophies, the karma, devotion, the ethics and meditation. then when i was in nepal hiking to base camp everest, i found it really moving watching the locals pray to the mountains, praying to mother nature, praying to keep them safe whilst hiking in beautiful yet often dangerous surroundings. to me that was real. more real than my own religion. more real than a god somewhere out there who created mother nature. so anyway these bracelets... they are inspired by ancient eastern philosophies.
"chakras are the manifestation of spiritual energies on the physical level." so i bought the red one, the base chakra. i guess you could call it the first one, as the theory behind it is that you wear it and it reminds you consciously or subconsciously of how you want to live your life. this first bracelet aims to give you grounding, stability and prosperity. all of which i think id like quite a lot more of.
some of you may think im talking rubbish, but those of you who dont, heres where you can get your own... www.daisyjewellery.com

back to the future
what an amazing idea. wish i had done this at uni for a thesis project. this project by irena werning is titled 'back to the future'. after snooping around peoples houses checking out their old baby photos she began wondering what they would look like if reenacted. so fascinating. plus i just love that old 70s/80s quality of photos. the colour has faded, its all a bit fuzzy. like a distant memory of being a kid.

bex rox
The amazing stylist nicole smallwood, who I used to work with at marie claire got me into bex rox. The well rounded traveler Bex Rox has lived with tribesman in China, scoured flea markets in South East Asia and consulted as a fashion stylist in New York for clients like W magazine, Vogue and Calvin Klein; having developed a keen eye for style, her expedition into jewellery design has been the most taxing. BEX ROX is a limited range of costume jewellery, juxtaposing raw semi-precious stones, reproduction vintage touches and cast fossils that combine to create alluringly modern tidbits. i want one!
