127 hours
saw 127 hours last night. it was incredible. we all know what happens, and thats not really a lot considering he was literally just stuck under a rock for 127 hours, but james franco is spectacular, and danny boyle proves once again that he's one of the best.

cringe?
this is the movie i interned on...the chicken shack burger place, well i smelt like grease after 12 hours shooting there. anyway, slightly cringing at the storyline and general cheeseball-ness of it, but will most probably go and see it anyway!
it does make me miss the slopes tho :-(

religion?
whilst visiting the many churches in granada, nicaragua, i noticed that the religious artworks were extremely different than that of european works. hispanic artwork in south and central america is vibrant, bright, sometimes neon. and i like it. im not really religious, but was tempted on more than one occasion to buy a virgin mary figurine, they were almost tacky and kitsch-like, but so wonderful!
this all really reminded me of baz luhrmans sets on romeo & juliet. the neon crosses, overload of candles, the statues in juliets room, and the artwork of the heart surrounded by flames. heres crediting his amazing team: production designer catherine martin and set decorator brigitte broch.

but 2010 did give me...
i dont care what anyone else says, but this song is my song of 2010. it makes me happy, and makes me want to dance on a table as soon as i hear it! press play, then repeat!

hola chica
30 days off from work. this means one thing. have passport = will travel. i jetted off to costa rica, and then whilst over there i headed to the border and checked out nicaragua aswell. now costa rica was a bit too touristy for my liking, and also a bit too popular with americans, (unfortunately apart from a couple guys these were all the doucheback kind of americans). but my main objective for this trip was to relax and to surf. and this is exactly what i did. i missed home though, especially with my family going through a sad yet beautiful final christmas with my aunt. but when i woke up at 4.30am on the 1st of january 2011 to watch the sunrise i felt happy and at peace that the year just past was over and the new year was hopefully a new beginning full of happier times. hopefully my pictures do these countries justice, central america is beautiful....enjoy!
