i was pretty excited when Hugo got nominated for so many oscars, and even if they dont win them all, i know what film i would vote for! so for best film, my top three would be...

i havent seen 'extremely loud & incredibly close' yet, so havent included it, but i also like midnight in paris and the help.
for cinematography, i hope bob richardson wins for Hugo, although I also thought The tree of life looked beautiful even though it was mighty weird!
for art direction, i will have all my fingers and toes crossed for Dante Ferretti & Francesca Lo Schiavo for Hugo. It was an honour to work with such a great team... beautiful concepts, beautiful sets, incredible dressing, and the automatons were some of the best props I have ever seen or possibly will see. they have to win! (although rick carter and lee sandales are nominated for warhorse and I had an interview with lee today to be part of his team... so i would give them a close second for good karma!)
i also hope that Sandy Powell wins for costumes on Hugo, Thelma Schoonmaker wins for editing on Hugo, and of course Martin Scorsese for best director.
its all very exciting to me, and it makes me ambitious for the future. someday i want to be that good... actually no, someday i will be that good!
