blogger backlash

apparently theres a bit of a backlash going on, and people groaning about how many people blog, esp now that 13 yr olds like the ridiculous tavi gevinson girl are now been flown to all the fashion weeks to sit in the front row and write about the shows. i think she looks awful. like ugly betty but worse. she can write pretty well ill give her that. but who in their right mind would take fashion advice from someone who looks like this...
plus now that all these bloggers are becoming really well known, they are also being paid to advertise. they get sent clothes to feature on the blog. advertisers have cottoned onto how many people read blogs. so really they arent any better than magazines. its all about pleasing the advertiser not necessarily how nice the clothes are. no one actually likes the clothes but they have to include them because fashion houses like louis vuitton pay for lots of pages... mj what were you thinking?? eg.
but the thing is i dont blog for lots of people to read it. i blog for me. i collect my thoughts and ideas and put them down so i dont forget. i collect images on my desktop and they are too low quality to print out for my scrapbooks so why not do something online. i dont want to be influenced by anyone or anything other than my genuine passions and taste and style. i still scrapbook, and i love it. i could spend hours crossed legged surrounded by photocopies and magazines and gluesticks. i do it so that one day when i need ideas for a job or i want to redecorate or want to take a photo, or need to design something, i will have lots of things to immediatly inspire me...
